Recently re-designed, the Defy Advanced series uses the upgraded Torayca T700 carbon frameset. The use of disc brakes adds an element of confidence for the sportive rider or solo mile-muncher who enjoys descending and riding whatever the conditions. All Giant's Defy Advanced models now employ the stopping prowess of hydraulic actuated disc brake calipers.
A Shimano 105 groupset remains the componentry of choice while Giant PR2 disc wheels handle rolling duties so you have everything you need from a carbon bike for churning out the miles, be those commuting or endurance riding. Like the bulk of Giant's Avail and Defy ranges, the Advanced features a D-Fuse seatpost - so called as its profile is shaped like a D and diffuses unwanted vibration to create a more comfortable ride.
Designed around the proven endurance geometry of the Defy range and handcrafted with lightweight, smooth riding Advanced grade composite, the frame delivers speed, confidence and control. The rear triangle features ultra thin, flattened seat stays to reduce road vibrations and the D-Fuse seatpost helps smooth out the road.
